Background

Aaron began his career in brewing, working in a hands-on production environment for several years. As his previous company began to decline, he started considering a longer-term move into a more stable, technology-focused career path.

He joined the programme after speaking with a member of the team to better understand the structure, support, and outcomes. After discussing his initial concerns around delivery, location, and progression, he decided to move forward.

His motivation for pursuing cybersecurity was driven by an interest in technology and working with computers, alongside the growing importance of technology and security in the modern world.

The Challenge

Aaron was struggling to:

  • Build a clear pathway into cybersecurity
  • Gain confidence in industry certifications
  • Position his experience for SOC Analyst roles
  • Navigate the job market with a clear direction

Our Support

Aaron first completed structured training in CompTIA Security+, CySA+, and Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, alongside hands-on labs in SIEM monitoring (Splunk), vulnerability management (Nessus Essentials), and network security fundamentals (Cisco Packet Tracer).

He also completed practical projects during his training to strengthen applied cybersecurity skills and technical understanding.

Dedicated exam preparation support was provided throughout his training for Security+ and CySA+, helping him build confidence and exam readiness. Aaron passed all certifications first time.

Following completion of his training, we then moved into the recruitment support phase, which included:

  • A full CV rebuild focused on cybersecurity roles
  • Structured job search guidance to target relevant opportunities
  • Elevator pitch development to improve how he communicated his experience
  • Interview preparation to build confidence when discussing technical work

The Outcome

Just over 3 months after starting recruitment, Aaron secured a role as a Cyber Security Analyst at Quorum Cyber, starting in June 2026.

He is now moving into a cybersecurity role where he will apply his skills in security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response.

Aaron's Advice

“The support throughout the programme was excellent, especially the exam preparation and interview coaching. The CV rebuild process was also really valuable and helped improve how I presented my experience. The practice sessions were very helpful and made me feel well prepared, rather than going into exams or interviews blind. It really improved my confidence going through the process.”
