Business Systems Development Certification Overview
This ten-day course (delivered over two weeks - LSSBBWK1 & LSSBBWK2) provides the experienced Green Belt with the necessary tools and techniques to deliver complex process improvement projects.
Lean and Six Sigma, both proven business improvement approaches, provide businesses with the ability to maximise customer, employee and shareholder value by minimising process variation and waste.
This hand-on learning experience develops the delegate's technical knowledge and skills. The course uses a blend of theory and practical exercises to ensure that delegates have the confidence and capability to deliver more complex business improvement projects and transformations using the advanced statistical tools required.

What Our Happy Alumni Say About Us
Prerequisites
- Delegates must have completed a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course with either QA (LSSGBP) or another organisation.
- Delegates should ideally, have completed a Green Belt project using the DMAIC framework.
- Delegates must have attended a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Week 1 course with QA (LSSBBWK1).
- Delegates should also have a second project identified to complete post-training. This is required for accreditation
- Access to Minitab will be required to complete this course, therefore a personal device is highly recommended
Suggested pre-reading
- Lean Six Sigma and Minitab by Quentin Brook
- Statistics without tears by Derek Rowntree
Target audience
- Experienced Green Belts who want to enhance and apply their skills to larger more complex projects and be recognised as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
Learning Objectives
This ten-day course, ran as two 5-day sessions (week 1 and week 2), will enable experienced Green Belt delegates to become self-sufficient process improvement practitioners with the capability to analyse opportunities and optimise solutions using Minitab.
By the end of week 2, learners will be able to:
- Apply advanced statistical and analytical techniques to deliver robust process improvement solutions.
- Design and interpret full factorial and fractional design of experiments (DOE) to optimise process inputs and outputs.
- Employ regression analysis and multivariate methods to quantify relationships between process variables and outputs.
- Implement change management and stakeholder engagement strategies to support process improvements in organisational settings.
- Conduct hypothesis testing and statistical validation to justify improvements in project contexts.
- Prepare for and successfully complete the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt examination.
- Demonstrate leadership in DMAIC projects by using appropriate tools, templates, and software to deliver measurable results.
- Transition into independent Black Belt practitioners capable of leading complex improvement initiatives.
Lean Six Sigma Practitioners Black Belt - week 2 Course Content
Analyse (continued from week 1)
- General Linear models
- Linear Regression
- Multiple Regression
Improve
- Design of Experiments
- Full factorial experiments
- Fractional factorial experiments
- Creative Thinking
- Pattern Breaking
- Solution Selection
Control
- Control Charts
- Deploying Continuous Improvement
Exams
- A lean Six Sigma Black Belt examination will be taken on the last day of week two - LSSBBWK2.
- It is an open book with a 70% pass mark.
- If a delegate fails the exam they will be able to re-sit the examination.
Accreditation
Once a delegate has completed the course and passed the examination they will be required to demonstrate the application of their learning in an appropriate DMAIC improvement project which must use some of the learned advanced statistical tools.
